There are more than ten thousand man-made objects in orbit around our planet. Of these, only seven percent are operational satellites. The remainder consists of dead satellites, rocket fragments and debris. As if not content with landfills, the littering of our oceans, global warming and all the other forms of terrestrial pollution of which we are guilty, just look what we are doing to outer space.
